Received an email last night from a friend who had a little video footage (mobile phone) of the band playing the O2 last month. "Starting to think it would be wiser to bring in a photographer and a video person to cover our shows"
As with most phone recordings the volume is a out but its worth a look if only to hear a unreleased song, and Griff - lead guitar sounds amazing anyway enjoy.....

Hello and thank you for taking the time to checkout our little corner of the internet. Here you will find out even more information, facts and random stuff about the band The Lies.
The Lies band was formed by accident? griff and andy (lead & bass) have played in many bands together over the years. They where involved in one particular band when everything went wrong. They had recruited a guitarist by the name of Bondy, and started to progress in to the local music scene:
They successfully played a large local venue in Newcastle,
Completed a photo shoot,
Set up websites,
Fitted out a private rehearsal space,
Management interest
Promoter intrested
Recorded a demo
Somehow it still fell apart? They where left in an unusual position where the guitarists didn't have a vocalist or a drummer, they luckily recruited a great drummer Tim but still couldn't find a suitable singer. Originally wanting a female singer the band where unsuccessful in finding the right person.
As the band where rehearsing and writing they needed someone to cover vocals for the band until they found the right singer, and to the bands surprise they all ready had the right singer with bondy, admittedly the early song lyric's where crazy and bondy would make up a lot of the lyrics on the spot, but very quickly they turned those rough songs in to some great pieces of rock music. see below

The Lies played a successful gig at the O2 Newcastle Supporting the American Band Transfer and will be performing again there in the near future. The band will be sorting out gigs for this year very soon so keep in touch for more news.
